     NIGERIA I HAIL THEE

Oh Nigeria I hail thee, you can corrupt even an Angel, how you manage to do this; I have not been able to ascertain. Maybe you use your weapon of poverty, poor infrastructure, bad governance and greed to change saints to sinners.
How come anyone who works for you(Nigeria) ends up stealing from you? I wonder how you changed "Brown Envelope" to " Ghana must Go", fictitious appointments, contracts and fuel subsidy claims that are questionable under the constitution of your Land and the people in it? Most of your Ministers have a track record of corruption. Some of the Police Bosses you appoint have not been able to fight the corruption in their lives let alone fight the one that is in the Land.

The cost of maintaining your Law Makers are enough to start a new Country from scratch to completion. with all these you can't even boast of water supply even when you are surrounded by water.   I don't want go into the  issue of power supply, I don't need to remind you that one of your leaders connived with her daughter to embezzle 15 Billion Dollars meant for power projects round the country, yet he is the BOT chairman of your most popular political party "People Deceive People" PDP. You are the only country where national criminals and ex convicts are welcomed from prison with  National Awards.

Just with appointments and members of juicy probe panels, you have been able to change most of our Good Journalists and great social critics to mere mouth piece of corruption and bad governance in the name of Reforms, I wonder if they were really good in the first place.

Your youths are jobless with almost no hope for the future, while your leaders are stealing to buy the future of their unborn generation.


Your leaders have turned University Education to a curse rather than a blessing, after all the youths get stocked in a  4 to 5 years programme for between 10 to 12 years with no hope of securing a job that will sustain them after graduation not to talk of the younger ones whose future were put on hold for their sake. This is if they make it alive during the one year compulsory service to the Nation from the shackles of bombs and religious crises.

Your younger Brother GHANA whom you watch grow is almost taking over from you as the Giant of Africa. Wake up Nigeria!!! Wake up from your slumber purge yourself of corruption and Bad governance. Give your youths a hope and your citizens reasons to live. The Falling Giant of Africa. Nigeria I hail thee.

Lagos Rats Mass Murder which way Nigeria?

Life they say is funny. since yesterday, the internet have been awashed with stories on the war against the rats in Lagos State sequel to the outbreak of lassa fever in the country.  As funny as this was to me, there is one thing that baffled me concerning the story which is  the number of rats killed and the place(s) these rats were killed. Why some media organisations reported 4,400, others reported   7,243 rats . In as much as I don't want to talk about who is correct as far as the number is concerned in this  little expression of my thoughts; a few questions came up immediately;( don't blame me, my training has made it difficult for me to see or hear things only from the surface value.)  Who killed and  counted these rats?
